Sr. Director of PM, Ecommerce
Dr. Squatch is a leading personal care brand with a large subscription customer base. As the brand expanded its subscription strategy, its static bundle structure and multi-page account experience couldn’t scale.

Prismfly was brought in to create a more flexible subscription system and a streamlined account experience.
Prismfly engineered a new dynamic bundle system that allows customers to mix products across categories—something previously impossible with rigid, category-locked static bundles.
This required building new Recharge collection logic, integrating SDK handling for dynamic pricing and product rules, and supporting six distinct markets, each with its own catalog and availability constraints.

At the same time, the entire account experience was redesigned. A single consolidated dashboard replaced multiple disjointed pages, improving clarity and reducing friction when managing subscriptions.

A four-tier loyalty program was also incorporated, with clear progress tracking and benefits, and unified three subscription types—static bundles, dynamic bundles, and single-product plans—under one consistent editing experience.
The primary challenge was keeping the legacy bundle structure intact while incorporating new dynamic bundles efficiently, as both bundle structures access common elements.
Product categories overlapped, markets had varying availability rules, and multiple bundles could share the same renewal date.
The team needed precise grouping, accurate Recharge syncing, and extensive QA to ensure nothing regressed during the transition.
The new system delivered a significantly more flexible and intuitive subscription experience:

Customers can now build and modify multi-category bundles effortlessly, while Dr. Squatch gains a scalable system ready for future expansion.
A modular UI approach created visual consistency while custom backend logic powered the new dynamic bundle system.
Custom functionality built using Recharge’s SDK ensured accurate syncing across markets and bundle types.
Extensive QA validated every edge case, preserving legacy functionality while expanding flexibility.
